Periodontal diseases are a group of diseases (gingivitis and periodontitis) which affects the tooth- supporting tissues (gum and bone).
Periodontal disease is a serious chronic inflammatory disease, left untreated, can lead to tooth loss. It can affect one tooth or many teeth. Inflammation is mainly caused by bacterial plaque, a sticky, colorless film that constantly forms on teeth, but other factors affect the health of your gums :
